Q-Kidz Dance Team has been saved, will stay in their studio

January 6, 2020

There's some good news out of the West End on Friday night: The Q-Kidz Dance Team will stay in their studio. The nationally-acclaimed group uses dance lessons to keep girls safe and off the streets.

The after-school program was in danger of being evicted because it owed more than $70,000 in back rent. City Council Member Jeff Pastor tells Local 12 that the dance studio and the housing authority have worked out an agreement.

"They've had a number of kids go to college, they performed at TEDx. They performed at Memorial Hall. It's a really awesome program that keeps kids engaged. It's something that you would like to see around the city of Cincinnati given the violent summer that we had. You know, people have to have a positive outlet and that's what Q-Kidz provides for the West End," said Jeff Pastor.
